Diamond Grits for Sawing and Drilling

The  ISD  line  of  synthetic saw grit is  of  the  purest quality available today  in the world market. Their  thermal stability is therefore superior to any competitors  materials  available. Iljin Saw Diamond  series  is  available  with  several coating  options for the most demanding applications .

Ti coating : Ti coated diamond not only improves the retention force between diamond and bond, but prevents diamond from chemical etching and oxidation by coating Titanium stably on diamond. With the bond matrix based in Cobalt, Copper and Bronze, Ti coating keeps diamond from pulling out of the tool and advances tool's performance in general sintering condition.

TiX coating : The strength of diamond can be declined because of its great reactivity like su rface corrosion in the condition of high sintering temperature with the bond matrix based in Iron and Tungsten. In such a machining condition, above all, as etching degree of diamond differs dramatically in a subtle change of sintering temperature, it's hard to control during sintering process. TiX coating materializes the high performance of diamond tools by preventing the decline of diamond's toughness due to surface corrosion, keeping the strong retention force between diamond and bond, and controlling easily the sintering process.

TN coating : The spiked Ni-alloy coating achieves the most powerful retention in soft bonds.(High Bronze or Cu) Mechanical interlocking coupled with chemical interaction at the coating/bond interface minimizes diamond pull-out. This major increase in retention allows maximum utilization of the diamond and provides significantly longer tool life, lower power consumption and superior cutting edge quality. Applications with lower powered machines, such as wall saws, can benefit greatly from this new invention.

IMD Metal Bond Diamond

IMD-F is of perfectly uniform cubo-octahedral shape. Its characteristics are high impact strength and high thermal stability. Those properties guarantee the best efficiency and a processing quality from the field of application where heavy loads are encountered.

IMD-D has the advantage of good impact strength and regular shape which can give the optimal tool life and grinding quality. For demanding high performance with hard materials and the machining of ceramic which is needed for uniform machining quality, IMD-D can make the best performance.

IMD-B is widely used in metal bond wheels. It provides high grinding efficiency because of the continuous diamond engineering ability. IMD-B is suitable for keeping the maximum tool life with the high quality of surface finish.

IMD-A has good shape and strength slightly lower than IMD-B which allows for obtaining higher surface finish.

IGD-II has sharp, well developed edges that allows for good retention in single layer tool production and controlled fracturing of exposed particles.

IRD-II has excellent grinding performance with continuous projecting cutting edges, good fragmentation and superior cutting with low power consumption. It can be applied to Resin, Vitrified bond wheels generally and has good stable quality.

IRD-III is designed to do heavy grinding. To compare to other IRD-series, it has the ability to cope with large loads and excellent fragmentation. By these characteristics, it has good grinding performance with continuous projecting cutting edges and can work with lover power consumption.
Consequently, IRD-III is adequate to work in hard work-conditions, for example, creep grinding, flute grinding and requiring long wheel life.

IRD-F With good micro-fragmentation and excellent grinding performance, IRD-F is adequate for grinding hard material, for example, cements, ceramics, micro cemented carbide and applications requiring high surface quality.

IBN Series are available with Ni coating for Resin bond wheel and Ti coating for metal bond wheel to improve retention.

Ni coating on IBN products has irregular shape so that IBN itself can show superior performance without pull-out of grain in resin bond grinding wheels. In addition, it has excellent thermal stability to prevent work-pieces from thermal damage in grinding.

Ti coating on IBN products is highly effective in improving the retention between coating layer and bond in metal and vitrified wheels.
